We hope this site serves as a basis for getting to know the CTA. Whether you are interested in becoming a translator, a member or a potential client, we hope this site will answer any questions you may have. We try to respond to the needs of professional translators and interpreters, and we are always interested in hearing new ideas from our members. Thank you for visiting our web site. - Kathy DiCenzo, CTA President Overview The Colorado Translators Association, (CTA) is a not-for-profit professional organization for Colorado-based translators and interpreters that provides assistance to its members and to corporations and individuals seeking translation and interpretation services. The CTA is a cooperating regional group affiliated with the American Translators Association (ATA), the largest professional society of translators and foreign language specialists in the United States. The CTA provides a forum for the exchange of information, training and assistance in all areas related to the profession of translating and interpreting. The CTA establishes important contacts between business, government and industry, as well as public relations to inform and educate the public. CTA members represent over 25 different language pairs. Specialty areas vary widely and include computers, telecommunications, law, health, medicine and medical instrumentation, finance, automotive, mining, petroleum, geography, natural science, poetry and cross-cultural consulting. The CTA provides professional profiles and contact information for all CTA members in the online CTA Member Directory. History The CTA was established in 1985 as a not-for-profit cooperating group of the American Translators Association (ATA). We currently have close to 100 members in Colorado. CTA Affiliations The Colorado Translators Association is a not for profit cooperating group of the American Translators Association (ATA), the largest professional organization of translators, interpreters and language professionals in the United States. The CTA is affiliated with the Colorado international business community through the World Trade Center in Denver, Colorado.
